Author Interview

Tell us a little about yourself. ?

I am a Husband of ten years, Father, Mentor and Owner of Never Again Ministries which promote Marriage Enhancement and Holistic Relationships. My Wife and I host the Doctor of Love Show on Three different stations.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

?In my latest book WISDOM:? Preventing Problems before They Happen the overall message is to help people cut back on making bad decisions. Don?t get me wrong, we all make mistakes but if there is someone who can mentor us from making bad decisions, apply the wisdom that others give to you.

What is the most challenging part of being an indie author?

What is the most rewarding part of being an indie author? The most challenging part of being an indie author is getting others to see the vision that is birthed within you. When you don?t have others backing you or you don?t have the big name to match, it takes more time for others to buy into what you are writing.

What made you decide to become an author?

?I like to talk a lot! I figured if I can put all my thoughts and ideas on paper it will become more valuable to those who read my books.

When did you begin writing with the intention of becoming published?

I started writing my first book If You Apply These Principles in 2008. Then I went on to get published by the company Lulu.

Please tell us the titles of your current book (s): And give a brief synopsis?

-If You Apply These Principles: God Is More Practical Than We Think (2008) I used a lot of Bible Scripture from the book of Proverbs on the practicality of God and how God require work to be done on our behalf to be successful.?

-It?s The Woman You Gave Me (2009) how we can get past blaming others for past hurts and disappointments from parents, friends, spouses, and situations. Notice how the blame game started with Adam and Eve in the garden. Since the beginning of time it?s been an issue even until today.

-3 Are Even Better (2010) eight week workbook for married couples and benefits of God being the head of your marriage. The title came from the book of Ecclesiates 4:12 we discuss topics from money, sex, how to affair proof your marriage to blended families

-WISDOM: Preventing Problems before they happen (2012) Refer back to question number one for synopsis?

What one positive piece of advice would you give to other authors?

Don?t quit when things get tough and get connected to others who have the same goals as you. Networking with other authors is a powerful tool. Also support other authors and understand it?s not always about you and your work.

Tell us about your journey to publication.

For me it was tough because I didn?t know any other published authors when I wrote my first book. I just did the best I could and let the cards fall. But as time went on publishing became easier.

What next for you?

We are hosting our first ?3 are even better? Marriage Retreat in Payson, Arizona this fall and the release of my new book WISDOM: Preventing problems before they happen?

Wisdom: Preventing Problems Before They Happy by Shon Hyneman is a book that anyone from any walk of life, any age or any race should be able to relate to. Mr. Hyneman gives advice or tidbits of wisdom in various points of life that, ironically, will have readers thinking, that was/is me.

In a roundabout way, Mr. Hyneman? brings to the forefront ways we may subconsciously see the ?signs? or those ?red flags?, but somehow miss them. This in turn has the reader looking back, after a certain situation, wondering why they didn?t see that sign, because it was certainly there.

The author uses simple, easy to understand and common sense wisdom such as taking out the trash. I love that he knows if the Mrs. is going to be upset if you don?t take out the trash, there will be an argument?and he knows to keep peace in the home, the trash had better get emptied.

Shon touches on subjects from marriage to being single; from seasons to business. In each of his wisdom bits, Mr. Hyneman gives supporting biblical scripture and narrates his writing as if he was talking to any one of us. It doesn?t get any simpler than that.

I loved this book and can?t wait to read the next title from Mr. Hyneman. It is my hopes that there may also be a co-authored project from both Mr. and Mrs. Hyneman.

India blackout leaves 300 million without power

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Grid failure left more than 300 million people without power in New Delhi and much of northern India for hours on Monday in the worst blackout for more than a decade, highlighting chronic infrastructure woes holding back Asia's third-largest economy.

The lights in Delhi and seven states went out in the early hours, leaving the capital's workers sweltering overnight and then stranded at metro stations in the morning rush hour as trains were cancelled.

Electricity supplies were restored to Delhi and much of Uttar Pradesh, a state with more people than Brazil, by midday (0630 GMT). But the states of Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir were still without full power in the early evening.

Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said all power would be restored within hours.

Power shortages and a creaky road and rail network have weighed heavily on the country's efforts to industrialize. Grappling with the slowest economic growth in nine years, Delhi recently scaled back a target to pump $1 trillion into infrastructure over the next five years.

Major industries have dedicated power plants or large diesel generators and are shielded from outages -- but the inconsistent supply affects investment and disrupts small businesses. Office blocks, hotels and large apartment buildings all use backup diesel generators.

Chaos reigned on Delhi's always-hectic roads on Monday as stop lights failed and thousands of commuters abandoned the metro. Water pumping stations ran dry.

"First, no power since 2 in the morning, then no water to take a shower and now the metro is delayed by 13 minutes after being stuck in traffic for half an hour," said 32-year-old Keshav Shah, who works 30 km outside the capital.

"As if I wasn't dreading Monday enough, this had to happen."

The government's top economic planning adviser, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, said the blackout may have been caused by a mix of coal shortages and other problems on the grid.

"I've no doubt that this is the area that we need to show improved performance in, and we also need show a clear sense of what we are doing to prevent it," Ahluwalia told Reuters at his office, where power had been restored some hours earlier.

WEAK MONSOON

He said the grid was better networked now than five years ago and power sharing was more common.

But blackouts lasting up to eight hours a day are frequent in much of the country and have sparked angry protests on the industrial fringes of Delhi this summer, the hottest in years.

At least 200 trains were cancelled with some stranded. Authorities made restoring services to hospitals and transport systems a priority.

Shinde blamed the outage on an incident near Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal, without giving details. He said repairs were being carried out fast compared to a similar grid outage in the United States four years ago.

"In 2008, there was a power failure in the USA. Their Federal Energy Regulatory Commission asked India for assistance and it took four days to restore the power," he told reporters.

India suffers a peak hour power deficit of about 10 percent. It has been made worse this year by a weak monsoon, driving demand from farmers pumping more water from wells.

The outage forced the shutdown of a nuclear power plant at Rawatbhata in the desert state of Rajasthan. It will take about 48 hours to restart. Hydroelectric plants in the Himalayas and thermal power stations in the wheat belt of Punjab and Haryana were slowly returning to normal.

India has the world's fifth-largest coal reserves and relies on it for two-thirds of its power generation. Wrangles over land and environmental clearances and failure to invest in new mines and technology have held back coal output as demand rises.

Officials at Delhi's international airport said flights were unaffected. Delhi's private power company, BSES, said northern India last not suffered such a major outage since 2001.

"This kind of breakdown shows that the system needs some big overhaul to increase credibility and increase the confidence in the system of India," said Jagannadhan Thunuguntla, equity head at Delhi-based brokerage SMC Capital.

"More homework needs to be done."

Diagnosis of Disorders of Psychosis | Anxiety Clinic & Health Care

Diagnosis of disorders of psychosisThe threshold for the determination whether the thought is damaged varies somewhat in different cultural contexts. As well as anxiety, psychotic symptoms can appear in a variety of mental disorders. They are associated in a very characteristic way with schizophrenia, but the psychotic symptoms may also appear in serious mood disorders.

One of the most common groups of symptoms that result from the disorder of the processing and interpretation of sensory information are hallucinations. Hallucination is called when an individual experiences a sensory impression that has no basis in reality. This impression may involve any of the sensory modalities. Thus, the hallucinations can be auditory, olfactory, gustatorias, kinesthetic, tactile or Visual. For example, auditory hallucinations often involve the impression that one is hearing a voice. In all cases, the sensory impression is falsely being experienced as real.

A more complex group of symptoms resulting from the alteration of the interpretation of the information consists of the delusions. A delusion is a false belief that has an individual despite the evidence otherwise. A common example is the paranoia, in which the person has delusional beliefs that others are trying to harm you. Attempts to persuade the person of their beliefs are unfounded, typically fail and may even result in additional reinforcement of their beliefs.

Hallucinations and delusions are among the most commonly observed psychotic symptoms. The lists of other symptoms that are seen in the Psychotic illnesses such as schizophrenia are shown below.

Common manifestations of schizophrenia

Positive symptoms

? Hallucinations

? Delusions

? Thought and disorganized behavior

? Scattered or illogical thoughts

? Agitation

Negative symptoms

? Affectivity flat or abolished

? Specific thoughts

? Anhedonia (inability to experience pleasure)

? Minimal motivation, spontaneity and initiative

The symptoms of schizophrenia are divided into two broad classes: positive and negative symptoms.

In general, positive symptoms involve the experience of something in the consciousness that normally should not be present. For example hallucinations and delusions are perceptions or beliefs that should not occur normally. In addition to the hallucinations and delusions, patients with psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, often have great changes in the logical processing of your thoughts. In particular, the psychotic thought processes have the characteristic of being scattered, disorganized, illogical or extravagant. These alterations of the process of thought often produce a pattern of observable behavior that is also disorganized and extravagant. The severe alterations of the process and content of thought comprising positive symptoms often are the characteristics more recognizable and striking of psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia or manic-depressive illness.

However, in addition to the positive symptoms, patients with schizophrenia and other psychoses may also show important deficits in the motivation and spontaneity, what is referred to as negative symptoms. While the positive symptoms represent the presence of something that should not occur normally, negative symptoms reflect the absence of thoughts and behaviors that on the other hand it should be present. The specific thoughts represent the deterioration of the ability to think in the abstract. The abolition of affectivity represents the deterioration of the ability to express emotions. The lack of motivation and the inability to initiate activities represents the main source of disability long-term schizophrenia. The anhedonia reflected a deficit in the ability to experience pleasure and react appropriately to pleasant situations. Positive symptoms such as hallucinations are responsible for much of the distress associated with schizophrenia, but negative symptoms seem to be responsible for much of the chronic disability and long term associated with the disorder.

Syria SNC asks allies for heavy arms

DUBAI (Reuters) - The Syrian opposition appealed on Sunday for its foreign allies to provide with heavy weapons to fight President Bashar al-Assad's "killing machine" and said it would soon start talks on forming a transitional government to replace him.

"The rebels are fighting with primitive weapons. We want weapons that we can stop tanks and planes with. This is what we want," Abdelbasset Sida, head of the Syrian National Council (SNC) opposition alliance, told a news conference.

Sida was speaking as rebels and government forces backed by tanks and helicopters fought in the streets of Aleppo, Syria's main commercial city.

Weapons supplies "will make Syrians able to defend themselves against this killing machine", Sida said.

He also said the opposition would hold talks within weeks to form a transitional government. Such a government would run the country between the eventual fall of Assad and democratic elections.

Most of its members would be drawn from the opposition but some members of the current Assad government might also be included, Sida added.

"This government should come about before the fall (of Assad) so that it presents itself as an alternative for the next stage," Sida told Abu Dhabi-based Sky News Arabia television.

"There are some elements in the current regime who are not bloodstained, who were not part of major corruption cases. We will discuss (including them) with other parties, but there should be a national consensus to accept them."

However, criticism about the SNC's legitimacy may complicate its efforts to form a transitional government. It backs the Free Syrian Army rebel force, despite having not always overtly supported it in the past.

But it has sometimes struggled to overcome internal divisions and critics have accused the Istanbul-based organization of being out of touch, overly influenced by Turkey, and not fully representative of the opposition.

INITIAL INVOLVEMENT OF TLAS RULED OUT

Visiting Abu Dhabi to meet United Arab Emirates officials, Sida did not say when exactly a transitional government might be formed, telling the news conference that he had discussed the idea with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahayan, the UAE's foreign minister.

Last week, Brigadier General Manaf Tlas, one of the highest-ranking defectors to flee Syria, said he would try to help unite Syria's fragmented opposition inside and outside the country in order to agree a roadmap for a power transfer.

Sida said he welcomed Tlas' defection but the general could not be involved in the early stages of organizing a transitional government.

"The dialogue and coordination have to first be with the Free Syrian Army and the various members of the Syrian opposition movements, and after that if there are some roles to be played by members who have defected, then so be it - but with the condition that there is an agreement between the Syrians about that."

Sida also ruled out the possibility of Tlas becoming head of a transitional government.

"This has to be a person who can lead a national government and who has been committed to the revolution since the beginning," he said.

Geek Speak: A New Way to Troubleshoot VoIP | thwack

If you?ve deployed VoIP at any level then it is quite likely that you have received complaints about poor call quality.? How exactly does one measure VoIP call quality and how does one go about troubleshooting the cause of the poor quality?

VoIP Metrics

Maintaining high quality VoIP calls can be difficult as VoIP is more sensitive to network delays and packet loss compared to any other network applications.? VoIP quality is measured based on the following metrics:

  • Network Jitter and Delay - excess jitter and delay result in calls breaking up and can be mitigated by the use of jitter buffers, however, too much jitter buffer can cause unacceptable voice delays
  • Packet Data Loss ? packet loss can occur for a variety of reasons including link failure, high congestion levels, misrouted packets, buffer overflows and a number of other factors.? Packet loss can be controlled using packet loss concealment techniques within the playback codec.
  • Latency ? measured in milliseconds (ms) results in voice delay and echo
  • Mean Opinion Score (MOS ) ? indicates the percieved quality of the call and is expressed as a number in the range of 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent)

Troubleshooting the Old Way

Historically, network or VoIP engineers have used a variety of tools to monitor and measure the call quality components including:

  • Passive network monitoring tools that monitor VoIP performance based on network performance statistics and estimate MOS score
  • Protocol analyzers - hardware or software tools that capture and analyze VoIP traffic packets and calculate jitter, and latency directly from the packet stream.
  • Dedicated VoIP tools - originally developed for the telecomm industry and are great for testing IP phone and gateway designs but not as good at solving deployment problems within the network.

Unfortunately, these tools will not provide a correlation between the specific call detail and the underlying network performance to identify the root cause of the poor quality.? Enter SolarWinds VoIP & Network Quality Manager.

Troubleshooting With SolarWinds VoIP & Network Quality Manager

SolarWinds VoIP & Network Quality Manager is an evolution of our IP SLA Manager and provides VoIP monitoring and troubleshooting alongside WAN performance monitoring.? VoIP & Network Quality Manager works by correlating the call detail record (CDR) with the IP SLA operation that corresponds to the network call path.? With VoIP & Network Quality Manager you can:

  • Get at-a-glance insight into VoIP sites, calls by region, failed calls, and more
  • Monitor site-to-site WAN performance using Cisco IP SLA technology
  • Search and retrieve call detail records by call origination & destination, region, call time, call status, or quality metrics
  • Correlate detailed call metrics with underlying network performance data for faster troubleshooting and root cause analysis

With VoIP & Network Quality Manager, you can troubleshoot poor VoIP calls in three easy steps:

  1. Retrieve the call detail record of the affected call using VoIP & Network Quality Manager?s call search
  2. View the IP SLA performance details for the corresponding call path
  3. Drill down for detailed performance statistics for each router in the call path

SolarWinds VoIP & Network Quality Manager will soon be available for download.? In the meantime, you can learn more here.

The Santa Fe recall involves nearly 200,000 vehicles in the 2007 to 2009 model years. Hyundai dealers will reprogram the front passenger air bag sensors so they will accurately detect when a small adult is seated.

Hyundai said it has received complaints from some adults under 130 pounds whose air bags didn't deploy. The air bags were originally programmed not to go off to protect children.

The company is also recalling 22,500 Sonata sedans from the 2012 and 2013 model years because their side air bags could go off without warning.

Hyundai says it has received 16 complaints about the Sonata's air bags, but no injuries have been reported.

Owners may contact Hyundai at 1-800-633-5151.

An update from Pfeiffer:

??.Since my post on the fact that the bust of Winston Churchill has remained on display in the White House, despite assertions to the contrary, I have received a bunch of questions ? so let me provide some additional info. The White House has had a bust of Winston Churchill since the 1960?s. At the start of the Bush administration Prime Minister Blair lent President Bush a bust that matched the one in the White House, which was being worked on at the time and was later returned to the residence. The version lent by Prime Minister Blair was displayed by President Bush until the end of his Presidency. On January 20, 2009 ? Inauguration Day ? all of the art lent specifically for President Bush?s Oval Office was removed by the curator?s office, as is common practice at the end of every presidency. The original Churchill bust remained on display in the residence. The idea put forward by Charles Krauthammer and others that President Obama returned the Churchill bust or refused to display the bust because of antipathy towards the British is completely false and an urban legend that continues to circulate to this day?.?

And from Mediaite:

??However, the British Embassy has confirmed that it did receive the original bust in 2009 and it currently resides in the U.K. Ambassador?s residence. The White House is in possession of another copy of the Churchill bust which is currently located in the White House residency.
That?s right, there are two?.?

It seems that everybody has an agenda, and it?s getting harder and harder to discern the truth. Is this much ado about nothing? I don?t know.

In shift by Egypt, president meets Hamas leader

CAIRO/GAZA (Reuters) - Gaza Islamist leader Ismail Haniyeh met Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi on Thursday in an official visit that signaled a big shift in Cairo's stance toward the Hamas movement after the election of a Muslim Brotherhood head of state in Egypt.

A Palestinian official said the head of Egyptian intelligence had promised measures to increase the flow of fuel supplied by Qatar to Gaza via Egypt and needed to ease the small Palestinian territory's power shortages. The sides had also discussed increasing the flow of Palestinians across the border.

But there was no immediate sign that Cairo was ready to open up its border with Gaza to the extent sought by Hamas, something analysts partly attributed to the influence still wielded by the Hosni Mubarak-era security establishment.

"Mursi's heart is with Hamas but his mind is elsewhere," said Hany al-Masri, a Palestinian political commentator. "He will give them as much as he can but he won't be able to give them much because his powers are restricted," he said.

Mursi's victory was celebrated in Gaza as a turning point for a territory whose economy has been choked by a blockade imposed by Israel and in which Egypt took part by stopping everything but a trickle of people from crossing the border.

But as head of state, Mursi must balance support for Gaza with the need to respect international commitments, including Egypt's peace treaty with Israel. "He will be very cautious," said Mustapha Kamel Al-Sayyid, an Egyptian analyst. "The intelligence and the military will have their say on this."

In a statement, Hamas said Mursi had "promised to take measures that would ease the lives of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip". Mursi's spokesman said the meeting had touched on subjects including "lifting the siege and the suffering of the people in Gaza" and reconciliation with Hamas's arch-rival the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority, led by Mahmoud Abbas.

Sworn in on June 30, Mursi is trying to stamp his authority on an Egyptian state still influenced to a large degree by a council of military generals led by Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, Mubarak's defense minister for two decades.

MURSI, HANIYEH SHARE RAMADAN MEAL

Mubarak had regarded Gaza's Islamist rulers with suspicion bordering on outright hostility reflecting his enmity towards the Brotherhood, the ideological parent of Hamas that was outlawed for decades in Egypt until last year's uprising.

Mubarak never recognized the Hamas administration which has governed Gaza since 2007, when its forces defeated Abbas' Palestinian Authority. Earlier this month, Mursi received both Abbas and Khaled Meshaal, the Hamas leader in exile.

On Thursday, Haniyeh and Mursi shared a Ramadan iftar - the meal with which Muslims break their fast during the holy Islamic fasting month. Earlier, Haniyeh had met chief of intelligence Murad Muwafi, reflecting the role still played by the Egyptian security establishment in managing Palestinian affairs.

The Egyptians said the quantity of fuel supplied via Egypt to Gaza would be more than doubled next week, a Palestinian official familiar with the talks told Reuters.

The fuel supplied by Qatar goes from Egypt into Israel, from where it passes through a crossing into Gaza in accordance with the existing arrangements on how goods pass into the territory that was captured by Israel from Egypt in a 1967 war.

Israel withdrew settlers and soldiers from Gaza in 2005.

Earlier this year, Brotherhood officials had lobbied for the fuel to be sent straight across Egypt's border with Gaza - a move sought by Hamas and which would have marked a major step towards opening the border to trade and commerce.

In another apparent gesture triggered by Mursi's election victory, Egypt is to ease restrictions on Palestinians travelling through Egyptian territory on their way in and out of Gaza, Egyptian border officials said this week.

Palestinians on that route have complained of mistreatment including detention at their port of arrival ahead of their deportation to the Rafah crossing.

A diplomat familiar with Cairo's policies on Gaza did not expect Mursi to open Rafah to trade. But all else could be discussed, he said, including "improving conditions at crossings and increasing the number of passengers and Egyptian aid".

HBT: A-Rod to DL with broken hand

Alex Rodriguez suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left hand when he was hit by a Felix Hernandez slider on Tuesday night and will go on the disabled list, the Yankees announced after the 4-2 loss to the Mariners.

Here?s the video.

Even though it wasn?t a fastball at 88 mph, it looked like Rodriguez suffered a break from the moment he was hit. He was in serious pain as he rolled around on the ground, and he showed no interest in moving his wrist as he walked off the field.

Jayson Nix pinch-ran for Rodriguez. He and Eric Chavez figure to split time at third base for at least the next couple of weeks for the Yankees. While it?s good news that Rodriguez didn?t suffer a more serious fracture that would have been guaranteed to knock him out for at least 4-6 weeks, it still isn?t all that likely that he?ll be ready to go when his 15 days are up. For what it?s worth, Chavez said after the game that he missed five weeks in 2004 with a break similar to the one A-Rod suffered.

A-Rod was Hernandez?s second hit batter of the inning and third of the game. Derek Jeter was also hit in the hand by a pitch in the eighth, and while he seemed to be in considerable pain initially, he stayed in the game.

Hernandez was pulled following the A-Rod HBP, but he ended up with the win after allowing two runs in 7 1/3 innings. The second run scored after he left the game in the eighth. Lucas Luetge got out of the jam from there ? though not before he knocked down Raul Ibanez with some chin music ? and Tom Wilhelmsen closed it out for his 11th save.

Still trying to win a close game. the Yankees declined to send any messages back to the Mariners in the bottom of the eighth. One wonders if Ivan Nova will drill a batter early in Wednesday?s series finale. While it wasn?t obvious that any of the Mariners? plunkings tonight were intentional, the fact that there were three, followed by the Ibanez dusting, could be considered worthy of retaliation.

(AP) ? Most of America doesn't relate to Mitt Romney's religion but that may not matter in his race against President Barack Obama.

Those are the findings of a new Pew Research Center poll released Thursday, about a month before Republican Romney is set to become the first Mormon presidential nominee of a major political party.

Misgivings about the Mormon faith are widespread and persistent. Nearly two-thirds of non-Mormons said they see Romney's faith as very different from their own while just half consider it a Christian faith. Those numbers are little changed since Romney's first run for the presidency pushed Mormonism to the political forefront in 2007.

Despite those qualms, most voters who know that Romney is a devout Mormon say they are comfortable with his religious beliefs, and few voters reject his candidacy solely because of concerns about his faith.

Romney rarely discusses the details of his faith in public, preferring to focus on how it has helped him connect with people. In an interview Wednesday with NBC News, Romney again credited his religion with shaping his perspective and said he would talk about his experiences in the church. He did not address his spiritual beliefs.

"I'm ? without question ? I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm proud of that," Romney said. "Some call that the Mormon Church, that's fine with me. I'll talk about my experiences in the church. There's no question they've helped shape my perspective."

Views of Mormonism generally have held steady.

About six in 10 non-Mormons see it as very different from their own faith, and about half say they consider it to be a Christian religion, as Mormons themselves do. Among other Christians, black Protestants (66 percent) and white evangelicals (63 percent) are most apt to say they consider the faith sharply different from their own, while white evangelicals (42 percent) were most likely to say the Mormon faith is not a Christian one.

The poll, conducted jointly by the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion and Public Life and its Center for the People and the Press, found the public's knowledge about the religious beliefs of the two men vying for the presidency remains murky ? even as two-thirds say it is important that a president have strong religious beliefs. Nearly three in 10 voters (29 percent) were unaware of or incorrect about the religious backgrounds of both candidates.

Sixty percent of registered voters know Romney is a Mormon, about the same as in a March poll. Nine percent think he follows another faith and 32 percent weren't sure. About eight in 10 who know of Romney's beliefs are either comfortable with them (60 percent) or say it doesn't matter (21 percent).

Discomfort with Romney's faith peaks among several groups not often on the same side in politics: white evangelical Protestants, black Protestants, atheists and agnostics. White evangelical Protestants broadly back Romney for president despite their misgivings about his religious background, while the other groups are far more likely to support Obama.

Overall, the poll found Obama holding a 50 percent to 43 percent lead over Romney.

Concerns about Romney's religion seem to dampen enthusiasm for his candidacy among some Republicans. Those Republicans who are aware of Romney's faith and are uncomfortable with it are far more tepid about his candidacy than Republicans who express no concerns about his faith.

That diminished enthusiasm could hurt Romney this fall. A candidate's strongest supporters often are the most likely to turn out to vote. The poll found Romney lagging behind Obama in strong support generally, with 32 percent strongly backing the president and 15 percent committed to Romney.

With regard to Obama, the poll found that misperceptions about his faith persist.

About half of registered voters correctly say Obama is a Christian. Seventeen percent misidentify him as a Muslim, 3 percent say he adheres to some other faith and 31 percent say they are unsure.

That's a slightly higher number misidentifying the president as a Muslim than in October 2008, during his first run for the presidency. Back then, 12 percent said they thought Obama was a Muslim. Nearly all of that increase is among Republicans, however, as the share in that group saying Obama is a Muslim has nearly doubled in that time.

Overall, those who are aware of the president's faith are broadly comfortable with it. Among those who know Obama is a Christian, 82 percent say they are comfortable with his faith. Only about one-fourth of those who identify him as a Muslim say they are comfortable with what they see as the president's religious beliefs.

The poll was conducted by telephone June 28-July 9 among a random national sample of 2,973 adults, including 2,373 registered voters. Results among all adults have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.1 percentage points, among registered voters, it is 2.3 points.

Organize Garage For Questioning | Home Improvement Zones

Purification area can be difficult and time consuming. In the apartment there, shelving, and various other storage areas, facilitate the organization a lot. Homeowners do not have that luxury in the garage. Here are five common questions a person should ask themselves if they try to organize the garage.

Question 1: How do you feel about your garage?

The garage can serve different purposes. There is an open space can be applied to almost zero. Pull a car or two and you have a car park. Install a couple of garage cabinets and there is now a storeroom. Create a garage, a garage has workbench in the garage. It can be used as a playroom for the kids, a hobby room or a lounge for the whole family.

Whatever their purpose, you need this space to organize, clean and free from confusion. To have any significance of the garage to be used in sequence. You should know exactly what you want to use the open space for the organization or about them. This lets you focus throughout the organization, or institution of the garage.

Question 2: Where should I start?

This is the current status of your garage for storage off. The starting point for a new homeowner with a clean, empty garage is very different than home and apartment owners who use their garage for years.

First, the current status of your garage assess. Then turn the clutter by sorting the elements to keep, donate, and discard piles. Now get rid of the last two posts. Finally, learn to save and store the goods in the stack.

Question 3: How long does it take to organize your garage?

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is not cut and dry. Depending on the severity of the disease, can be anywhere from several hours to several days, leaving a garage.

If you start with a clean slate, so you really do not need to know about getting the garage organized care immediately. Focus on building a garage organization system that is sustainable. Installing a garage storage system, labeling and grouping of good ways to organize the garage.

If you allow rubbish to accumulate over the years, then you probably need a few hours up to several days to clean up the mess. Do not be discouraged by this, or define your plans. Taking into account the state that wins not help the situation whatsoever. You have to commit to solving the problem at this time.

Remember the purpose you had in mind for your garage. Let it be a boost to your efforts to clean. Trying to live, not on the time it takes, or the seemingly difficult task. The final result will be worth the work to be good. Gather family and friends to help with the project.

Question 4: What Garage Cabinet are my options?

If you have already visited the big box store or already with one of their so-called garage storage systems, you know the answer to this question: ?Not much.? Fortunately, there are custom options that are designed much more durable, functional and individual.

The two best options are powder coated material wood and metal. There are manufacturers, garage cabinets in hundreds of configurations, widths and designs to offer. There are corner units, elastic, cabinets with 12 ?deep, locker cabinets and tons of other options to suit every garage. There is a wealth of options to choose from also. A really good manufacturer will have a kind of life guarantee.

Be sure to perform due diligence before choosing a manufacturer, brand or dealer. You do not know what you are set to decide. Ask questions and find the features and benefits that meet your needs.

Question 5: What kind of budget do I need for a garage storage system?

As with most everything will depend on installation costs of the desired quality garage cabinets. For now, only to find out the purpose of your garage, here we go, the organization of the area, plan a storage system, and then contact a professional for help with the final design, cost, and possibly information.

Spain sparks sell-off on jittery stock market

Brendan Mcdermid / REUTERS

Traders work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange Monday.

By Roland Jones, NBC News

Europe?s debt crisis, the fiscal cliff and persistently high unemployment -- the stock market has had a raft of troubles to grapple with lately.

Can stocks get over these issues and move higher?

Stocks took a tumble Monday, tracking global equity markets sharply lower, as traders worried that Spain could eventually be shut out of public markets and forced to seek a sovereign bailout in the same manner as Greece, which itself may be approaching an exit from the eurozone.

By the close of trading, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 101 points, recovering from a loss of as much as 239 points sustained just after the opening bell.

Julian Callow, chief European economist at Barclays Capital in London, reckons the outlook for stocks won?t look much brighter until Europe?s troubles are resolved.

That doesn?t look too likely at the moment, he added.

?Things are not going to look a lot better for the financial markets until we start to see some improvement coming through in the business cycle here in Europe,? Callow told CNBC. ?And I really struggle to see much evidence of that right now.?

The broader market, as measured by the Standard & Poor?s 500-stock index, is down 5 percent since hitting a high for the year on April 2, and if the spring-and-summer swoon is giving you a tingling sense of d?j? vu, you?re not imagining it.

The stock market is starting to follow the same pattern as 2011. Stocks began the year well, but faltered in the spring and summer as the economy started to show signs of weakness.

Unfortunately, if the 2011 patterns holds for the rest of 2012,?the market?is likely to drop 20 percent from its recent high amid massive recession fears and on the back of fears about Europe?s debt crisis.

?There?s a lot of talk about us going through what we went through last year, and the script is close,? Jim Paulsen, chief investment strategist at Wells Capital Management, told CNBC Monday.

?But I think we?re very different this year,? he added. ?We could stay sloppy here for a while, but I still think the U.S. is going to exit this soft patch and the market has a good run to new highs here before the year is out.?

A persistent fear about the state of the economy is weighing on some investors. The nation?s unemployment rate held at 8.2 percent in June, and it has remained above 8 percent since February 2009.

Last week, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben?Bernanke told lawmakers at a hearing that progress in reducing the nation?s unemployment rate may be ?frustratingly slow? and added that the central bank is ready to take further action to bolster the recovery.

Bernanke also raised the issue of the so-called ?fiscal cliff? -- tax increases and government spending cuts that are supposed to start in 2013 and could push America into recession if they are not addressed.

With corporate earnings season is full-swing, companies are reporting solid second-quarter results, but reported revenue is looking weak.

Only 42 percent of the 120 companies in the S&P 500 index that have reported so far this quarter have beaten analysts? revenue estimates, in contrast to the ?63 percent of S&P 500 companies that beat analysts? quarterly revenue projections over the past decade, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

Still, it?s worth remembering that the market is?up sharply from last October?s lows, said BlackRock?s Chief Equity Strategist Bob Doll.

?Given all of the negatives that seem to be paramount in investors? minds, it may be easy to forget that we are still in the midst of a bull market,? Doll said in a research note Monday.

From their lows last October, U.S. stocks climbed an impressive 32 percent to their April 2012 highs, and they have subsequently experienced an 11 percent correction into early June. Since then we have bounced back almost 7 percent, he added, while stocks are up close to 10 percent on a year-to-date basis.

Doll said stock prices should continue to climb, but in a back-and-forth fashion.

?There is still room for additional policy easing around the world given weak growth levels and low levels of inflation,? Doll said. ?Equities do generally benefit during times of policy reflation, but they do so in a volatile fashion given the associated backdrop of economic concerns.?

As many companies prepare to release Q2 earnings, investors are wondering if they will receive any clarity on the markets.

Stocks drop for a 3rd day as earnings slide

NEW YORK (AP) ? Stocks are falling sharply Tuesday on Wall Street following weak earnings reports, a pullback at U.S. factories and fear that Europe's debt crisis could spiral out of control. The market is heading for its third straight loss.

The Dow Jones industrial average was down 181 points to 12,540 in late afternoon trading Tuesday. Investors around the world dumped stocks and fled to the relative safety of U.S. government debt. The yield on a benchmark Treasury note fell to another record low and the dollar hit a two-year high against the euro.

Stocks fell from the start of trading following news that United Parcel Service had cut its earnings forecast 4 percent for all of 2012. The package delivery company said it expects global trade to slow even more than the global economy this year, a first since the financial crisis. Its stock fell $3.52, or 4.5 percent, $74.43.

Net income at the huge chemical maker DuPont fell 3 percent for the second quarter on slower business in Europe and Asia. DuPont also reported revenue that fell short of Wall Street's expectations. Its stock lost $1.05, or 2 percent, to $47.66.

The broader Standard & Poor's 500 was down 17 points to 1,333. The Nasdaq composite was off 30 points to 2,861.

Also weighing on stocks was a survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond indicating that manufacturing in the central-Atlantic region is contracting. That followed reports of pullbacks in New York and Philadelphia.

"The economic data is raising questions about whether earnings won't weaken even more," said Carl Yingst, chief market analyst at Joseph Gunner, an investment bank. "Our guess is we haven't seen the worst."

The yield on 10-year Spanish government bonds rose 0.10 percentage point to 7.53 percent, a dangerously high level. Investors are also selling Italian government bonds, sending the yield on that country's 10-year bond up 0.32 percentage points to 6.54 percent.

Late Monday, Moody's Investors Service issued a warning about the credit rating for Germany. Moody's anticipates that strong countries like Germany will have to shoulder a heavy financial burden as they support weaker countries like Spain and Italy. The debts of those countries are considered far too big for current bailout funds to handle.

Investors fear that Madrid may become the latest struggling European country to ask for a financial lifeline to pay the government's bills. Spain has already gotten help from its European partners to shore up its banks.

In cutting its outlook on Germany, Moody's also said there was an "increased likelihood" that Greece would leave Europe's monetary union. Reuters is reporting that two European Union officials expect that Greece would not be able to pay its debts even after it received significant amounts of debt relief and financial support from its neighbors.

If stocks continue to fall, it will be the third day in a row of losses for the U.S. stock market. If the Dow doesn't recover, it will be the third day in a row of triple-digit losses. The last time that happened was in September, when some economists feared the U.S. was on the brink of another recession.

As they dump stocks, investors have been piling into U.S. government bonds. On Tuesday, the yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 1.40 percent, matching the record low it reached Monday.

Investors have also been selling the euro. In early afternoon trading Tuesday, the euro was fetching $1.20, a two-year low against the dollar.

In corporate news, AT&T and Whirlpool both fell short of analyst estimates of earnings and revenue. AT&T fell $1.05 cents, or 3 percent, to $34.34. Whirlpool, the world's biggest appliance maker, dropped $5.14, or 8 percent, to $62.17.

So far this earnings season, nearly seven of ten companies that have reported have beaten earnings estimates, slightly higher than is usual, according to S&P Capital IQ, a research firm. But companies have fallen short of expectations of revenues as the global economy slows, and that is spooking some investors.

Some other companies in the news:

? Altria Group said its net income nearly tripled in the second quarter. Stock in the maker of Marlboro cigarettes was flat at $35.48.

? Cisco Systems fell the most of the 30 stocks in the Dow, more than 5 percent, after the network equipment maker announced its latest round of staff cuts. Cisco dropped 92 cents to $15.15.
