@ Zodia195 A Gamma technically doesn't exist in real wolf packs, but seeing as on here they are right below the Beta, they would be helping with the running of the pack and show dominance etc. The Delta is below the Alpha and the Beta in ranking, and in this case, below the Gamma too. They are usually the middle level of hierarchy and are trained to take over the position above them if the wolf/wolves there die.

A healer is sort of like a doctor/medic, they cure the sick and treat the injured. A nurturer takes care of cubs (I'm assuming) when others go out to hunt, a few wolves are left behind to care for and protect cubs/offspring of other wolves.

Gold bugs can?t understand how the public can be so unaware, how highly intelligent policy makers can be so immoral, and how the mainstream media can be so incurious. We can?t understand why more men and women in the investment business haven?t joined some of the more successful ones that have come around to precious metals and have taken substantial positions in them for their funds and personal accounts. The list of high profile independent-minded investors that have come out of the proverbial closet is impressive and growing: Kyle Bass, John Paulson, David Einhorn, George Soros, Bill Gross and Paul Singer, to name only a few.

Conventional financial asset selection guidelines for professional investors are becoming increasingly uneconomic and problematic. Current macroeconomic conditions leave little doubt as to why. A zero-bound rate structure across developed economies, heavy monetary policy intervention, guaranteed negative real returns of benchmark financial assets and cash, impossible discount cash flow models,cacophonous (and economically meaningless) fiscal political wrangling diverting attention from legitimate budget arithmetic ($800 billion over ten years when we?re running $1 trillion-plus annual deficits?), dubious short and intermediate-term prospects in already-emerged emerging economies, and non-trending financial markets, all suggest something has changed.

Regardless of whether one is investing personally or as a fiduciary, conventional financial asset allocation models and procedures are obviously failing and the reason is simple: the currencies in which financial assets are denominated are gravely flawed ? levered beyond reconciliation and incapable of generating positive real returns for assets denominated in them, or ongoing consumer and business confidence while the leverage is being transferred from banks to central banks, and from central banks to government balance sheets. The political/policy dimension is boxed. We think prudence demands stepping away from conventional financial asset allocation models.

Master?s of Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution, a Master?s degree in Instructional/Educational Technology, similarly accredited or other advanced degree with relevant work experience; minimum of three years of professional experience in instructional technology or library public services. Knowledge of educational technology and other emerging information technologies required.

Experience providing support in a multi-platform, network intensive environment required. MA or Ph.D. in an appropriate subject field is highly desirable. Experience in or aptitude for Web design highly desirable. Relevant experience, continuing education credits, or training which provides the necessary scope in skills, abilities, and knowledge considered pertinent.

Software pioneer John McAfee deported from Guatemala, lands in Miami

After being deported from Guatemala, John McAfee returned to the US Wednesday evening. For now, Belize officials must wait to question McAfee about the death of his neighbor.

Computer software pioneer John McAfee, who is wanted for questioning in?Belize?over the murder of a fellow American, arrived in Miami on Wednesday evening after he was deported by?Guatemala, according to fellow passengers on an American Airlines flight.

After landing, McAfee, 67, was escorted from the plane by airport security officers, passengers said. Shortly afterward, he tweeted, "I am in South Beach," referring to the popular tourist area on Miami Beach.

"Some people felt uncomfortable that he was on our flight. ... We all knew the story," said?Maria Claridge, 36, a South?Florida?photographer who was on the Silicon Valley entrepreneur's flight to Miami.

McAfee, who was seated in the coach section and had a whole row to himself, was wearing a suit and was "very calm" during the flight, she added.

"He looked very tired, he looked like a man who hadn't slept in days. I'd say he even looked depressed," said another passenger,?Roberto Gilbert, a Guatemalan who lives in Miami.

McAfee had been held for a week in?Guatemala, where he surfaced after evading police in?Belize?for nearly a month following the killing of American?Gregory Faull, his neighbor on the?Caribbean?island of Ambergris Caye.

Police in?Belize?want to quiz McAfee as a "person of interest" in Faull's death, although the technology guru's lawyers blocked an attempt by?Guatemala?to send him back there.

Authorities in?Belize?say he is not a prime suspect in the investigation. McAfee has denied any role in Faull's killing.

The goateed McAfee has led the world's media on a game of online hide-and-seek in?Belize?and?Guatemala?since he fled after Faull's death, peppering the Internet with pithy quotes and colorful revelations about his unpredictable life.

"I'm happy to be going home," McAfee, dressed in a black suit, told reporters shortly before his departure fromGuatemala?City airport on Wednesday afternoon. "I've been running through jungles and rivers and oceans and I think I need to rest for a while. And I've been in jail for seven days."

Guatemala's immigration authorities had been holding McAfee since he was arrested last Wednesday for illegally entering the country with his 20-year-old Belizean girlfriend.

The eccentric tech pioneer, who made his fortune from the?anti-virus software?bearing his name, has been chronicling life on the run in a blog, www.whoismcafee.com.

He said he had no immediate plans after reaching?Florida.

"I'm just going to hang in Miami for a while. I like Miami," he told Reuters by telephone just before his plane left. "There is a great sushi place there and I really like sushi."

BELIZE?STILL WAITING

Residents of the Belizean island of Ambergris Caye, where McAfee has lived for about four years, said McAfee and Faull, 52, had quarreled at times, including over McAfee's unruly dogs.

McAfee says?Belize?authorities will kill him if he turns himself in for questioning. He has said he was being persecuted by?Belize's ruling party for refusing to pay some $2 million in bribes.

Belize's prime minister has rejected the allegations, calling McAfee paranoid and "bonkers."

Belize police?spokesman?Raphael Martinez?said the country still wanted to question McAfee about the Faull case.

"He will be just under the goodwill of the?United States?of America. He is still a person of interest, but a U.S. national has been killed and he has been somewhat implicated in that murder. People want him to answer some questions," he said.

Martinez noted that?Belize's extradition treaty with the?United States?extended only to suspected criminals, a designation that did not currently apply to McAfee.

"Right now, we don't have enough information to change his status from person of interest to suspect," he said.

Residents and neighbors on Ambergris Caye said McAfee was unusual and at times unstable. He was seen to travel with armed bodyguards, sporting a pistol tucked into his belt.

The predicament of McAfee, a former Lockheed systems consultant, is a far cry from his heyday in the late 1980s, when he started?McAfee Associates. McAfee has no relationship now with the company, which was sold to?Intel Corp.

McAfee was previously charged in?Belize?with possession of illegal firearms, and police had raided his property on suspicions that he was running a lab to produce illegal synthetic narcotics. He said he had not taken drugs since 1983.

"I took drugs constantly, 24 hours of the day. I took them for years and years. I was the worst drug abuser on the planet," he told Reuters before his arrest in?Guatemala. "Then I finally went to?Alcoholics Anonymous, and that was the end of it."

Reagan's Boyhood Chicago Home Faces Demolition

DIXON -- Chicago is not in any rush to compete with Dixon when it comes to preserving Ronald Reagan's history.

One of Reagan's little-known boyhood homes in Chicago is facing demolition.

A vacant six-flat building at 832 E. 57th St., where a 4-year-old Reagan lived, could see the wrecking ball as the University of Chicago expands in that area, according to several Chicago media reports.

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks told me the building does not meet the criteria for landmark status. It does not have architectural significance and is not associated with Reagan during his productive years. The building is not marked.

Reagan, whose family moved often, lived there only a year. The Reagans also lived in Tampico, Galesburg and Monmouth before moving in 1920 to Dixon, where he lived in a few different homes.

Reagan survived pneumonia in the gas-lit Chicago apartment, and he and his 6-year-old brother, Neil, sold popcorn while living there.

The 40th president and Barack Obama are the only two U.S. presidents to have lived in Chicago.

Of course, Reagan's first Dixon home on Hennepin Avenue was turned into a museum that attracts thousands of tourists to the area.

While some Republican organizations and Lost Chicago, a landmark conservation group, oppose the Chicago demolition, maintaining the building and marking it as a landmark doesn't seem right.

Not everything a famous person touches needs to be preserved. It should depend on the strength of the connection.

Reagan's story is woven into the history of Dixon, where his family finally settled and where resident historians, who met Reagan, can share stories of his life in detail. In a metropolis like Chicago, with so many other stories to tell, the residence could get lost in the shadows, like it has for many years. ___

U.S. delays final fracking rules for federal lands

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government has delayed finalizing rules that expand its oversight of natural gas drilling on public lands because officials must evaluate a torrent of public comment on the proposals, the Obama administration said on Tuesday.

The administration hopes U.S. states will eventually use the rules governing fracking on federal lands as a template for their own oversight.

"In order to ensure that the 170,000 comments received are properly analyzed, the Bureau of Land Management expects action on the fracking proposal in the new year," said Blake Androff, an Interior Department spokesman.

The administration had earlier said it would finalize the rules by the end of 2012.

The Interior Department unveiled draft regulations in early May that would require companies to get approval before using hydraulic fracturing and to reveal the chemicals they used in the process after they finish drilling.

The rules would not affect drilling on private lands, where most fracking takes place, but the administration has said it hopes the regulations will provide a template for state drilling laws.

Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, involves injecting a cocktail of sand, water and chemicals underground to extract fuel.

Advances in the drilling technique have unlocked vast reserves of shale gas in the United States but environmentalists have raised concerns that the process is polluting water and air, among other things.

Industry groups have argued that these complaints are unfounded and said the government's proposal adds an unnecessary layer of bureaucracy to already sufficient state regulations.

Still, some lawmakers and green groups said Interior's proposed rules were not stringent enough. They urged the department to require the disclosure of chemicals to be used in fracking before drilling takes place.

A Michigan sixth-grader will put aside her nerves and get her ears pierced on her 12th birthday. Two law-enforcement officials will exchange wedding vows at 12:12 p.m. in Pittsburgh's federal courthouse. And gamblers can take advantage of promotions some casinos are using to lure in patrons who want to test their luck.

With a once-a-century date arriving Wednesday, some people across the United Stated are betting on good fortune for 12-12-12.

In New England, Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut will offer $12 in free slots play to rewards cards members who sink $12 into the slots.

A southwestern Michigan casino is also betting that 12-12-12 is going to be a lucky day for opening its new hotel. A ribbon-cutting is planned for 12:12 p.m. Wednesday for the eight-story, 242-room hotel at FireKeepers Casino near Battle Creek.

Hours later, Anna Gandy, of Battle Creek, Mich., will head to the Lakeview Square Mall after school lets out. She realized last year that she would turn 12 on 12-12-12, her father Bryan Gandy said Tuesday. But between her sports team commitments and nerves, Anna decided to wait until Wednesday to get her ears pierced.

"She's been looking forward to it for a year," he said of the special birthday. "She obviously likes the number 12."

Fans of some of music's biggest names will feel lucky to see them share a stage Wednesday in New York's Madison Square Garden. The charity show for Superstorm Sandy victims has been dubbed the "12-12-12" concert and will include Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Bon Jovi.

For Green Bay Packers fans, Wednesday's date also will carry special meaning.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers wears No. 12, and the Wisconsin state Legislature has designated the day Aaron Rodgers Day in honor of the Super Bowl winner and last year's MVP. Some businesses are encouraging employees to wear Rodgers jerseys and make $12 donations to a charity fund.

According to Vicki MacKinnon, who practices numerology ? the study of the occult significance of numbers ? Wednesday's date represents two energies merging, including masculine and feminine energies.

MacKinnon, of Calgary, Alberta, author of "Please Take a Number: Numerology for Real Life and Everyday Success," said Tuesday that those kinds of energy are good news for couples planning to marry on 12-12-12.

Among them are Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Johnson and Deputy U.S. Marshal Brian Allen. A federal judge in Pittsburgh will marry the couple at 12:12 p.m. as they exchange 12-word vows.

Johnson, 34, said the couple had been planning a small ceremony until word leaked out of their numerically unusual plans.

"A lot of people started thinking it was interesting and intriguing that we chose this day. Prior to that it was going to be a very small venture, but it's kind of spiraled into something," Johnson said.

Officials at the Milwaukee County Courthouse also expect the hallways to be bustling with brides and grooms. At least 27 couples are getting hitched on the 12th day of the 12th month of 2012, compared with about six on a typical Wednesday.

In Las Vegas, MGM Resorts spokeswoman Yvette Monet says all six of the casino wedding chapels the company has along the strip are close to fully booked for Wednesday.

But weddings aside, MacKinnon, said her reading of the date shows good fortune can come to anyone who demonstrates good intentions in whatever they do on 12-12-12.

"I just believe that as long as we conduct our lives with the highest intentions for ourselves and others, we can make very good use of the energy tomorrow for manifestation of what we want to bring into our lives."

Carbon nanotubes lower nerve-damaging chloride in cells

Dec. 10, 2012 ? A nanomaterial engineered by researchers at Duke can help regulate chloride levels in nerve cells that contribute to chronic pain, epilepsy, and traumatic brain injury.

The findings, published online Dec. 10, 2012, in the journal Small, were demonstrated in individual nerve cells as well as in the brains of mice and rats, and may have future applications in intracranial or spinal devices to help treat neural injuries.

Carbon nanotubes are a nanomaterial with unique features, including mechanical strength and electrical conductivity. These characteristics, along with their tiny size, make them appealing to researchers in technology and medicine alike.

In a world of shrinking computers and smartphones, carbon nanotubes have been tapped as a solution for improving microchips. They outpace silicon microchips in size and performance, meeting a demand for smaller, faster devices. For people with nerve injury and certain neurological disorders, devices coated with or entirely made of carbon nanotubes could offer a new avenue for improving treatment options.

"Carbon nanotubes hold great promise for an array of applications, and we are only beginning to see their enormous potential," said lead author Wolfgang Liedtke, M.D., PhD, associate professor of medicine and neurobiology at Duke. "Their exceptional mechanical and electrical properties make them ideal for developing devices that interface with nervous tissues. However, the precise mechanisms behind carbon nanotubes and their effect on neurons remain elusive."

Not all carbon nanotubes are the same. Jie Liu, PhD, George Barth Geller Professor of Chemistry at Duke University and senior author of the study, developed specific carbon nanotubes that are extraordinarily pure. Termed few-walled carbon nanotubes, they have superior properties to their commercially-available counterparts.

Duke researchers initially set out to gauge if carbon nanotubes had toxic or adverse effects on living tissue. Studying neurons cultured from rodents, representing a "cerebral cortex in a dish," they found the opposite. Exposing the cells to carbon nanotubes appeared to have a nourishing effect on the neurons, making them bigger and stronger.

"Previous studies have looked at the behavior of carbon nanotubes on neurons. However, the impurity in the nanotubes significantly affected the results. After we developed pure few-walled carbon nanotubes in our lab, we discovered that nanotubes actually accelerated the growth of the neuronal cells significantly," said Liu.

Neural circuits can be corrupted by elevated chloride within neurons. A number of diseases involve such neural circuit damage, including chronic pain, epilepsy, and traumatic brain injury.

Low levels of chloride within neurons are maintained by a chloride transporter protein called KCC2, which functions by churning chloride ions out of the cell. In mature neurons, there is no back-up for this function.

The immature neurons cultured in Liedtke's laboratory had high levels of chloride, but as the cells matured, their chloride levels dropped as KCC2 increased. When the neurons were exposed to carbon nanotubes, the cells matured much faster, and the chloride levels dropped more quickly. Researchers learned that younger cells exposed to carbon nanotubes produced more KCC2 protein.

"Carbon nanotubes enhanced the regulation of chloride in neurons to normal levels. These changes are of enormous significance to the cell," Liedtke said.

The increase in KCC2 protein was also connected to a rise in calcium in the neurons. The increased calcium levels activated a protein found in the brain called CaMKII which signals a neuron to make more KCC2.

Similar results were observed in mice brains, as the carbon nanotubes prompted an increase in activity of the KCC2 gene, suggesting that the few-walled carbon nanotubes influence gene regulation of KCC2.

These findings may lead to the development of a new generation of neural engineering devices using carbon nanotubes. Existing devices that modulate the function of nerve cells use electrical systems that date back several decades.

"We hope that carbon nanotubes will work as well in injured nerves as they did in our study of developing neurons," Liedtke continued. "The use of carbon nanotubes is just in its infancy, and we are excited to be part of a developing field with so much potential."

Smallest Balance or Highest Rate - Which Credit Card Should You ...

If you only have one or two credit cards with balances, this question is really no big deal. But if, like a lot of people, you have several cards with balances, this can be a real issue. You're not only looking for the best way to pay off your credit cards, you?re also looking to do it in a way that will motivate you to see the process all the way through to the end.

Which method you choose is really more a matter of personal comfort level. The really important issue is that you set a plan to pay off your credit cards, get STARTED and stick to it.

The case for paying off the smallest balance first

Paying off the smallest balance first was made popular by Dave Ramsey's credit card "snowball" technique. The idea is that, if you have several credit cards that you need to payoff, you start off with the smallest one first. The logic is that the smallest balance will be the easiest one to payoff. Once that card is gone, you move up to the next smallest balance, but you have more confidence and it will be easier to accomplish because one of your credit cards is already gone.

The attraction of this method is that it's probably the best way to see results quickly and will give you a "quick psychological win." You're not concentrating on the amount of debt you have outstanding at this point, you're really employing a divide and conquer strategy. If you have six credit cards with outstanding balances, and can knock out the smallest one in the first month, right there you?re down to just five cards. That's progress you can easily see, and that helps with motivation.

It doesn't hurt either that with the disappearance of the smallest balance, the monthly payment goes away too. By applying the amount for the payment to your next smallest card you should be able get rid of that one quicker than expected too.

As a method of paying off credit card debt, this strategy is hard to beat. It?s kind of like knocking out your credit cards domino style.

If it has a downside, it's that often by paying off the smallest balance you hardly make a dent in the total amount of debt you have. But, this method is more about psychology than dollars and cents.

The case for paying off the highest rate first

From a pure financial standpoint, paying off the cards with the highest rate makes the most sense. Interest is a pure expense, and by going after the high rate cards first, you?re doing a better job of reducing the actual expense, if not the overall monthly payment.

If you payoff smaller balances with lower interest rates before paying off the higher rate cards, you're actually allowing your interest expense to accumulate.

As you payoff the higher interest rate cards first, you're ensuring that more of your monthly payment will go to principal repayment. Ultimately, that should enable you to pay off all of your credit cards more quickly.

This method has a downside too. Since high interest rates consume more of your monthly payment it will be more difficult to payoff a single high interest rate card. You won't see as much progress with this method, especially early on.

And then, Plan C - payoff the card with the highest payment

Let's add a wrinkle to the mix; let?s add still another method. Let's say that the best credit card payoff strategy might be to first concentrate on the credit card with the highest monthly payment. This method has at least two significant advantages.

Generally speaking, the credit card with the highest monthly payment is also the one that is most threatening to your budget. By eliminating this card first, you will be removing the largest payment from your budget. That will have an important psychological effect ? you will see the most immediate benefit to your cash flow once the card is gone.

The second major advantage, and probably the bigger of the two, is that once the card with the biggest monthly payment is paid off, you will free up the largest amount of money to concentrate on paying off your other cards.

There is a downside to this method as well. It's a very likely that the card with the highest monthly payment also has the highest total balance. If that's the case it will take a long time just to payoff a single card.

One way to counterbalance this would be to match payments versus card balances. For example, if you have a credit card that has a balance of $3,000 and a monthly payment of $100, you may want to payoff that card before tackling one with a $5,000 balance and $100 monthly payment. The card with the smaller balance will go away faster.

The important thing is to start paying your credit cards off

As you can see, there are various ways to payoff credit cards, no matter how many you need to payoff or what the balances are.

Choose the method that will most motivate you to finish the job. If eliminating the number of cards you have balances on appeals you, then begin by paying off the smallest one first. If the size of the payment is biggest concern, concentrate on the card and biggest payment. If it's interest rate then start with the card with the rate that?s the highest.

Also, you don't have to use a single strategy. You could for example, choose to payoff the card with the highest monthly payment first. Once that's done, you can shift to paying off the smallest balances first.

The most important consideration is finding the method that will make it easiest for you to make your credit card balances go away.

SYDNEY (AP) ? They say they expected a hang-up and a few laughs. Instead, the Australian DJs behind a hoax phone call to the London hospital where the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge was being treated were deeply apologetic Monday as they described how their joke ended up going too far.

The phone call ? in which they impersonated Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles ? went through, and their station broadcast and even trumpeted the confidential information received. Whatever pride there had been over the hoax was obliterated by worldwide public outrage after Friday's death of Jacintha Saldanha, the first nurse they talked to.

"There's not a minute that goes by that we don't think about her family and what they must be going through," 2DayFM radio host Mel Greig told Australia's "A Current Affair," her voice shaking. "And the thought that we may have played a part in that is gut-wrenching."

Police have not disclosed the cause of Saldanha's death, but many have assumed it was related to the stress from the call. An autopsy is being held Tuesday.

Prime Minister David Cameron said at a luncheon Monday that "the suicide of this nurse, who worked incredibly hard and obviously was incredibly dedicated ... is an absolute tragedy."

His office later said Cameron's comment was not an official acknowledgment that the death was a suicide.

Greig and co-host Michael Christian spoke publicly about the prank for the first time in the televised interview. Another interview on rival show "Today Tonight" also aired Monday.

The hoax has sparked broad outrage, with the hosts receiving death threats and demands they be fired.

The radio station's owner said Greig and Christian were receiving psychological counseling to deal with the tragedy. A British lawmaker said he wished that much was being done for Saldanha's grieving family.

"They are devastated by what has happened," said Labour legislator Keith Vaz, who has visited Saldanha's husband and two children at their home in Bristol, southwest England.

"They want the facts to be established so that they can effectively grieve," Vaz said. "What is needed, clearly, is an inquiry by the hospital into how this tragic case happened."

Both DJs apologized for the hoax and cried when asked about the moment they learned that the Saldanha was dead. But neither described having reservations before the hoax tape was broadcast; they said higher-ups at the station had made the decision to air it.

"We didn't have that discussion," Greig said.

Southern Cross Austereo, the parent company of 2DayFM, released a statement Monday saying that Greig and Christian's show had been terminated and there would be a company-wide suspension of prank calls. The DJs themselves remain suspended.

Saldanha, 46, had transferred their call last week to a fellow nurse caring for the duchess, who was being treated for acute morning sickness at King Edward VII Hospital in London. That nurse said the former Kate Middleton "hasn't had any retching with me and she's been sleeping on and off."

Three days later, Saldanha was found dead at the hospital's nurses' accommodation.

The DJs said when the idea for the call came up in a team meeting, no one expected that they would actually be put through to the duchess' ward.

"We just assumed we'd get cut off at every single point and that'd be it," Christian said.

"The joke 100 percent was on us," he said. "The idea was never, 'Let's call up and get through to Kate,' or 'Let's speak to a nurse.' The joke was our accents are horrible, they don't sound anything like who they're intended to be."

Southern Cross Austereo CEO Rhys Holleran has called Saldanha's death a tragedy but defended the prank as a standard part of radio culture. He has also insisted the station had not broken any laws. He told Fairfax Radio on Monday that his station had tried at least five times to contact the London hospital to discuss the prank before it aired, but never succeeded.

When asked why the company made the attempts, Holleran replied "because we did want to speak with them about it." When pressed as to whether this meant the station had reservations about the pre-recorded prank, Holleran said only, "I think that that's a process that we follow and we have checks and balances on all those things."

The King Edward VII Hospital denied that its management had been contacted by the radio station.

"Following the hoax call, the radio station did not speak to anyone in the hospital's senior management or anyone at the company that handles our media inquiries," the hospital said in a statement.

It also announced a memorial fund to help support the nurse's family, with the hospital making the first donation.

Saldanha's children and husband, Ben Barboza, on Monday visited the hospital, which said it was offering assistance to the family.

Barboza expressed his sadness on his Facebook page with a short note "Obituary Jacintha."

"I am devastated with the tragic loss of my beloved wife Jacintha in tragic circumstances," he wrote. He said she will be laid to rest in Shirva, India.

Meanwhile, there were indications that the Duchess of Cambridge still struggled with acute morning sickness over the weekend when her husband, Prince William, cancelled a Sunday night engagement.

Palace officials said no final decision had been made on whether Kate would attend Wednesday's British premiere of "The Hobbit," where she and William are to be the guests of honor.

For many, Christmas is a chaotic time that involves travel, family in droves and, generally, happy chaos. For Betty White, however, Dec. 25 will be a quiet day spent alone with her dog.

"He's my family," she told People. "It's just the two of us for Christmas because I'm alone, and so we just have a cozy day all day. We look forward to that all year," White said?about her plans to cozy up to Ponty, a golden retriever and former guide dog.

Once the holidays pass, the seven-time Emmy winner has some more to look forward to in January. First, her prank show "Off Their Rockers" returns to NBC on Jan. 8 with back-to-back episodes. This season will look a little different than the first: White will be paired with a number of guest stars including Ed Asner, "America's Got Talent" host Howie Mandel" and "Jackass" stunt guy Steve-O, among others. PSY and Kim Kardashian are set for the two premiere shows.

Then on Jan. 17, White celebrates an even bigger event: her 91st birthday.
